You see, I happen to play this game for an astounding 5 years and counting and all of a sudden, a swift punch in the gut and everything taken away from me.

Some items were thrown out with zero regard, like my agent equip set from the debut of Cygnus Knight set, Maple equips from the Maple anniversary, Moonstone ring for marriage.

Even thrown out all my untradeable items that can/cannot use Scissors of Karma.

Items that were stolen are the following:
Ranger: 9 atk Dark Cordon, 6 dex Gold Drop Earrings, 96 atk Blue Metus, 94 atk Dark Nisrock, 88 atk 2 accuracy Marine Arund, 78 atk Bow of Magical Destruction, 6 str 4 dex Sirius Cloak, 4 int 8 magic Holy Cross Earrings, Goblin Cape, Lord Pirate Hat (Fully upgraded)

358 million mesos were stolen from my storage as well as nearly 10,000 NX was spent on the MTS.

Luckily my Evan, Dual Blade and Hunter were untouched. The MTS storage is also untouched as well.

These damages are pretty significant that I’ll probably quit the game for good.

I can’t fathom how the hacker managed to change my PIC without any notification on my email. Whatever this is, Nexon certainly fucks up again. Just like the hacking outbreak that one player managed to draw several players off the list.

Thanks a lot hackers for raiding my items and hardly leave a note.

On that note, I’m seeing more exploitations on the game with people using Equip Enhancement scrolls.

But goddamn, I’m so miserable. Unless Nexon plans to fix this, I’m not gonna return.

If you haven’t followed closely or paid any attention, this class is not a legend, it’s simply a new third branch for zero reason whatsoever.

*spoiler alert storyline involved if you actually care about it.
So it turns out that the current Dark Lord is a follower from a former Dark Lord who happens to have a daughter named Lady Syl in which Lady Syl suspects that the Dark Lord had something to do with removing the former Dark Lord from power. With that in mind, Lady Syl wants to usurp the current Dark Lord and reclaim her place where her father was.
Oh fuck this, lets get back on the game mechanics.

After performing experiments in Windia, (yes Windia and no, do not bother me to consider Windia) I have never expected the Dual Blades to have different skill build. I’ll explain that later.

I started a character out of scratch, through by playing through the Maple Island and not skipping any unnecessary parts. I continue playing up to level 21 through the storyline quests and then when I turned to a Blade Recruit, it went downhill from there.

Dear oh dear. This is a massive crash, I don’t even know where to start.

Dual Blade happen to have a different SP distribution and having subskill trees that gives you the “What the Fuck” expression and happening to screw up your skill distribution skills.

Unlike other classes, Dual Blade happen to save their SP at the point when they raise their skill Double Stab up to 10 then save the other 21 for mastery and Triple Stab. This goes on after you proceed to Blade Acolyte.

Way to fuck over any player who are so used to distribute their skill points that would happen to be set in stone and introduce a new class that has irreversible skill stats that could have been useful for future skills.

There are some skills that require mastery books as early as you job advance to Blade Acolyte. Slash Storm, once reached to max level, can learn Bloody Storm in future levels.

But these Mastery Books in the Cash Shop are really, expensive. 2,900 NX for a Slash Storm mastery. The costs continue to go up.

Now, if you happen to have large amount of time on your hands, you can purchase packaged mastery books for a discount or continue to do those “Earn Free NX”.

If you happen to have a level 30+ character, you have the chance to make a level 30 Dual Blade, which is nice but you’ll probably have less HP/MP than the ones who made their their Dual Blade from scratch.

Results: Well, the Dual Blade is a spectator, certainly above the norm than the bandit class, easily levels faster than the adventurer counterparts. It’s also flashy with it’s moves too. The negatives? About 5-6 skills require mastery books and it’s a hefty price tag if you want to continue to level and deal with damage with maxed required skills. Despite being an explorer, Dual Blade can participate in Ellin PQ but not in Crimson Wood Keep PQ.

If you must know, I’ve only reached level 36 on my Dual Blader and probably gonna take a break for a while since I’m working.

The Cure for the Summertime Blues
This event is made for new users. If you happen to start with a new account or you help a friend start one, this would be useful.

The “Get Set for Summer” AP/SP Giveaway
This event was unexpected. As said, free AP/SP resets depending on your character, level and if you screw up scenario. This pretty much benefits anyone who happens to HP wash or misplaced their AP or SP stats. Very good godsend.

It’s a Miracle
With the new potential equips out, this cash shop feature helps quite a bit. You buy it for 1.2k NX, use it on a existing potential equip, reset it and reuse the magnifying glass to show the potential.

As for the meso bags, you get the idea. Not worth the amount unless you have to be lucky but either way, it hurts you and the economy.

Deadly Dual Blade Packages
Already since the permanent NX featured by the Evan’s arrival in GMS, they’ve done it again with Dual Bladers with more trinkets. Also, they require mastery books that still doesn’t drop from monsters.

Great Stuff from Gachapon
As expected from Nexon, releasing more trash for more money. But hey, keep your eyes peeled for potential scrolls since they are the most wanted.

Epic Changes for MapleStory Weapons
I’ll be damned. That is all. This changes the landscape for all the equips you once knew into nothingness. However, since equip drop increase to 10% more, the value of an equip devalues 1/10 of it’s original value so NPCing is pretty much screwed.

So far, this patch is doing a decent job except that it also ran into problems since the game was done too early. Then it ran into Server Maintenance again and again. Some people happen to be falsely banned, others continue to play.

I’ll review Dual Blades next Friday. Something tells me that Dual Bladers happen to be superior to Bandits in any form of fighting.

With each passing day, Nexon Korea is probably sending their data to other Nexon corporates like Nexon America, Nexon Europe etc etc, (which each has their own separate databases) I’m gonna go on a limb and take on one of the broken formulas that this game has been exploited by players since 2007.

It’s the statless classes.

If you happen to be one of those people who plays these characters, you should know why these classes are ridiculed and admired at the same time. This is criticism rather than bashing mind you. I don’t hate statless classes. I dislike them for being the stereotypical pricks as they are, being completely power hungry and belittle other users who happen to be either low stats or regular. Some I meet in game has this stereotype most of the time, little that I encounter a mature user on a children game.

This was started as an experiment when people has free time on their hands like making a Battle Mage (before the resistance class of course) and was a fun experiment to play with. The next idea became: “Hey, lets make a class and stick to the stats of what’s best for that class” that person said. So that person did. It was a definite success. Better than a fun experiment like Battle Mage build.

The term statless classes coined up when players are researching and created a question of “How can I improve my damage stats and be above the norm?” Hence, statless is used when classes has a secondary stat and kept at the minimum for good. The list for secondary stats for all classes are shown below.

Warriors 2nd stat: Dex. Hence: Dexless
Bowmen 2nd stat: Str. Hence: Strengthless
Magician 2nd stat: Luck. Hence: Luckless
Thief 2nd stat: Dex. Hence: Dexless
Pirate 2nd stat: Both Str (Gun wielders Hence: Strengtless) and Dex (Knuckle users Hence: Dexless)

Okay so they decided to cap their secondary stat at the very minimum, what’s the deal?

Good question. It helps increase their damage by placing all their points into their primary stat thus “Pure Str/Dex/Int/Luk” on specific class. Since almost every regular equips doesn’t provide much effect if equipped, it’s best to go all the way statless. Plus, some armor and weapons require the amount of required stats.

This kinda puts statless classes in a disadvantage since they can’t wear regular equips.

True, but they are willing to sacrifice better armor and weapons to have superior damage. That’s the natural highs and lows of being a statless class. Suffice decent looking armor and effects of wearing it to increase damage. With certain equipment that requires no stats at all to equip it, just the level requirement, that itself helps. I’ll get to equipment later on.

As logic shows, when a statless classes becomes far superior than regular classes, it becomes the norm. Once a non conformist class, now isn’t.

Only 2 classes are free of the statless equips henceforth having the ability to wear regular equips without sacrificing their secondary stat but has trouble if not properly used. Some classes do not fall under statless due to lack of equips or at a level standpoint.

Bowmen can wear regular bowman armor since it doesn’t require any strength at all to wear but if you want to equip the bow, you need to implement strength to equip it. Varieties of Maple bows has no strength required including the big bow called “Bow of Magical Destruction”.

Warriors can equip both armor and weapon without sacrificing their damage rate going down when implemented dex. However, warriors require accuracy and without accuracy, they will constantly be barraged with misses with each strike. Every dex implemented increases accuracy by 0.5. It would be best to equip items that give accuracy to improve chances of hitting.

The effects of statless classes caused a detrimental ripple on the Maple economy.

Most users who happen to own a Maple weapon or massive amount, that they all have no stats requirements. Thus, more expensive than regular equips. Every Maple Anniversary, more people would happen to hoard the equips till the event is over, making the prices rise up.

Items like Sauna robe or Bathrobe are at normal value when clean but when scrolled with dex or luck, they are more expensive. Other items like Snowshoes that requires no stats at all, only level requirements benefited the players a lot because
a) 2 more slots than other shoes
b) no stat requirements
c) No sliding around in icy conditions
d) With the right scrolls, the Snowshoes easily trumps other shoes.

A list for which scroll is compatible for (assuming either 10% or 60%)
Red Snowshoes = Scroll for shoes for Dex. Gives Accuracy that dexless warriors need.
Green Snowshoes = Scroll for shoes for Jump. Gives more dex.
Blue Snowshoes = Unfortunately, this is left out.
Black Snowshoes = Scroll for shoes for Jump. Gives dex that allows dexless thieves to equip dex required claws.

Armors from the likes of Zhelm gives 20+ accuracy that warriors need and other classes love the boost that Zhelms give.

Most people who are statless happens to be very well funded but that is debatable since users can start anew without funding. It only proves to be difficult in the long run.

The future belongs to the statless people. It’s the norm. There’s no avoiding it.

In conclusion, fun is the importance of the game. Try to determine if you want to blow up your equips to suffice more damage to your enemies if that’s fun. I dare you.

After all, it was a meso exploitation after all.

The question is who should receive the blame?

Nexon: For having incompetent coders and managed to make some people super rich for having the Meso Exploitation in the first place

or

The community: For having to discover about the exploit and spread the word around having some people to be uber rich?

This is a really difficult decision since I can’t pick both and both managed to screw up big time and having everyone rolled back past 2 days. Time to break it down.

The case of Nexon happens when certain issues arise, communities starting to act up or not, Nexon either fixes the issues or leaves it be till about 6 months later.

Then there are the players who happen to stumble upon these exploits, perhaps using to their advantage.

I happen to accumulate history about Nexon and the users in which so, so, so, SO many players tend to exploit anything in the game just to get ahead. This isn’t the first time that I have mentioned about it.

So with that, players are to blame. You’ve gotten yourself into this mess, what you see is what you get.

I’m sorry that any players who lost everything on this rollback but if you got potentially screwed, you can either get back up or move on to better things.

If you were asking me what happened to me, I did get rolled back. Didn’t lose much exp only lost wooden tub and earring for 60% dex. The 5000 maple points were worth it. Sadly, I only got scrolls from gachapon which didn’t do much.

Probably that caught my attention to meso exploiters was this thread.

During the server check, these are the following that will happen:
Rollback on servers
Hell banned on players who exploited the glitch
Compensation for players

Chances are if you exploited, you will be banned.
If not, your ranks will go up but your characters will be rolled back. Mesos, equipment, transactions, everything.
You can search your rankings and see if there’s any change.

This isn’t the first time that Nexon screwed up. You know what I’m talking about. I did a post about Nexon’s absurd bugs and glitches and while it’s tolerable for a company that makes 700 million dollars annually, I can’t see why Nexon’s coders are incompetent.

Incident #1: When Orbis Party Quest was released during the time, there was a glitch (exploitation rather) when a leader lags through by removing the cable connection to their computer and plugs back in, all the players get 6x the original amount when they complete a part of a stage.

Nexon’s response: They announced it but they did little to none despite the massive amount of players exploiting. They fixed it after 6 months.

Incident #2: Nexon released Crimson Wood Keep and when Bigfoot came out labeled as a boss, it cannot be status inflicted by freeze, poisoned or even stunned. However, when one person did find out the exploitation, everyone wants to join the bandwagon. This became a massive prime for Fire/Poison mages as well as classes that can inflict status inflictions.

Nexon’s response: Announced about it, banned several players and even innocent bystanders. Server checks occur and Bigfoot is no longer status inflicted.

Incident #3: Family system. I despise the Family System. I really, really hate it. It’s nothing but a slave system that requires people to level up, gain reputation points, use points to teleport, 2x drop and 2x EXP. This feature sounds like a mini free cash shop items but I hate it with a passion. The exploitation was that 2x EXP rep does not stack with 2x EXP event. Even the descriptions on either solo or party buffs of 2x EXP/Drop are swapped. 4x EXP happened when 2x EXP event started and everyone started to power level like crazy. Buy a 2x EXP card while you’re at it and you gain 8x EXP. That’s when I started raging and quit my guild seeing they are power leveling addicts. I was a minority group who opposed the family system when this happen and players still don’t care.

Nexon’s response: Announced it, did nothing. Let the exploiters go free. Fixed in couple of days and having the players off bitching about no 8x EXP. Was fixed in couple of days.

All in all, Nexon continues to screw up. Don’t bother trying to be optimistic about this game.

The very point of today’s post is, what’s the point of playing a video game when it’s continuously updated from a day to day basis?

But it’s a very common problem with other Massively Multiplayer Online games too.

The premise is that when running a Massively Multiplayer Online games, you need to frequently update the game in order to keep the base of operations running. Keeping the content the same as it is and the player base will dwindle.

And that’s when the old school fanbase starts to rage when changes happen. Most of them would continue to see what happens or quit the game altogether.

I happen to be one of the old school people who doesn’t like much change but when all your efforts of leveling up all for naught, what’s the bloody point in continue playing the game?

There are a tons of examples to choose from since Nexon didn’t happen to serve the old player fanbase.

Example 1: The Dice System when starting up a new character is removed.
Example 2: All AP points are reset when you start a new job.
Example 3: Community complains about these changes and Nexon did nothing about it.
Example 4: The Musical Notes Pitches that you need to collect 100 to obtain the Wild Wolf Bandana.
Example 5: The adventurer rings require to level up 30 times if you have an existing character or start anew and level up to 50.

Part of Example 5 would be during the class balances, the classes are severely overpowered by the weapons, armor and the rings they retrieve after they level up to 50.

These are the examples that it’s really excruciating to start anew just to obtain these examples.

I admit, the old days were better and awesome because exploration is also part of the player experience as well. Despite the massive rampant amount of hackings occur, most of the hackers were banned and everyone has equal training, regardless of having NX or not.

Then Nexon became publisher and Wizet continues to develop the game. Years later, more content arrives and more players arisen in droves. Then arrive the 2x EXP cards in which broke the rules of gaming equivalency of what the cash shop became. Then came 25% exp reduced curve that also changed the landscape, making it 1.5x EXP.

And then all is forgiven? Really players? Really? I’m a bit shocked since the abuse of this game is basically throw away money when you screw up skills and then this Big Bang update? This is absurd really.

I don’t see a reason why all is forgiven when Nexon is treating the old players like rag dolls. And now with this new content, that’s rubbing salt in the wounds.

I understand that the entire MapleStory community wants a lower experience curve since the start of the game but with the Big Bang Patch in KMS, that’s horrible for existing players. I’ve been waiting for that six months after starting the game but this is insult to injury.

You might as well wipe the entire game clean.
